Lower your bills with an AI-prepped negotiation script
Prepare for a call to lower internet, phone or insurance bills with a script and fallback asks.
Why it works
Many providers have retention offers, but you usually have to ask. Preparation makes the call shorter and less awkward.
Step by step
Gather facts.
I pay [AMOUNT]/month to [PROVIDER] for [SERVICE]. I've been a customer for [TIME]. Competitor offers I found: [OFFERS]. Help me prepare to ask for a lower price.
Fill in the [brackets] with your details before you send.
Get the script.
Write a polite phone script: opening, my ask, how to respond to 'no', when to ask for the retention department, and a fallback ask (e.g. extra features or a one-time credit).
Debrief.
Here's what they offered: [OFFER]. Compare it with my current plan over 12 months and list any contract terms I should ask about.
Fill in the [brackets] with your details before you send.
Replace anything in [BRACKETS] with your details. Works with most AI chat assistants. The ChatGPT and Claude buttons open a new chat with the prompt already typed in, and you press send. Gemini doesn't accept pre-filled links, so its button copies the prompt for you to paste. For steps 2 and later, paste into the same chat you started so the AI keeps the context.

Tips and cautions
- Verify competitor offers yourself before citing them.
- Be ready to actually switch if you say you will.
- Before pasting or uploading a bill, cover your account number, address, date of birth and any member or policy IDs. The AI only needs the amounts, dates and line items.
